The Sé Catedral de Faro, known as the Faro Cathedral, is a historical landmark located in the heart of Faro's old town. This cathedral, originally built in the 13th century, showcases a blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architectural styles due to its reconstructions over the centuries. In addition to its architecture, Sé Catedral de Far houses a collection of religious art, intricately carved woodwork, and beautiful azulejo tiles. As a visitor, you can climb the bell tower for a panoramic view of Faro. If you’re looking to explore the cathedral but have a late check-in or early check-out and need to stash your bags, use a nearby Nannybag for safe and convenient luggage storage.
Housed in a former convent, the Museum of Art and Archaeology in Faro is home to historical artifacts and art pieces that tell the region's rich history. The museum's collection includes Roman mosaics, medieval sculptures, and paintings from the Renaissance period. Here’s a fascinating fact: it was built on the site of a Roman forum, with some of the original structures still visible. Navigating a museum with luggage can be difficult, so make sure to store your bags with Nannybag luggage storage and explore hands-free.
