Luggage storage in Dublin

Where to store luggage in Dublin?
Dublin is a city full of character, history, and culture, where there will always be somewhere to find out about Irish history, someone who will be delighted to share a laugh with you, and a warm cozy spot to enjoy a pint of Guinness during your stay! The city is steeped in history, dating back to its foundation by the Vikings in the 10th century. Still, its history is often sad, characterized by poverty and mistreatment by the British. The modern city is a vibrant, wealthy European capital with a buzzing cultural scene, beautiful architecture, great food, and famously warm and friendly people. There is an especially exciting music scene - of course, Irish traditional music can be enjoyed in a warm pub, but some of the biggest names and bands are from Dublin. The film, theatre, and performing arts also have a strong tradition in the city and should be experienced during your visit. If you feel weighed down at any time while exploring the city (public transport often isn’t great, and often the compact city center is best explored on foot), why not check out our service? Nannybag has partner locations (shops, hotels, etc.) where you can store your baggage in a secure location for only €6 per day, with luggage protection included. Look below for more information on our service, and read travelers’ reviews to see how useful we can be for burdened tourists!

Luggage storage and lockers at Dublin train stations
Suppose you’re traveling around Ireland by train. In that case, chances are that you’ve arrived in Dublin either at Connolly station, in the inner city just north of the River Liffey, or at Heuston Station, which links to the south and southwest of the country and is located in a beautiful 19th-century building. Both stations are named after leaders of Ireland’s 1916 Easter rebellion against the British (James Connolly and Sean Heuston), who were both executed. Check out our guides below to see where you can store your bags nearby once you arrive.
Connolly Station is located on Amiens Street in the North Inner City and is one of Dublin’s busiest stations. It provides transport links around the whole greater Dublin area and the wider country. Many trips taken on the train will begin or end at Connolly Station, so if you’re nearby and need to store some bags, this is a good spot!
Located in the west of the city beside the River Liffey, Heuston Station (named after Irish Revolutionary hero Sean Heuston) is a beautiful train station that provides services to Cork, Limerick, Galway, and other regional Irish towns, especially in the south and west. Traveling out of or just arriving in Heuston and want to store a bag for a few hours or days? Nannybag will help!
Luggage storage and lockers near Dublin airports
So, you’ve just arrived at Dublin Airport and want to start exploring the city or perhaps the surrounding countryside immediately. However, what if you need to store bags near the airport that you don’t want to bring around with you? Check out our guide below to find places nearby to store them!
Dublin Airport is Ireland’s busiest airport and where you’re most likely to be flying into if you visit from abroad. It has two state-of-the-art, modern Terminal buildings and is an airport with many great places to eat and shop. Transport into Dublin isn’t great, though - you’ll need to get a bus, as there’s no train or tram link. Need to leave luggage near Dublin Airport for whatever reason? Nannybag will help.
Luggage storage and lockers near museums
Dublin has a wide range of fascinating museums and galleries for you to enjoy. Kilmainham Gaol, for example, is a popular destination; an atmospheric, sometimes spooky museum housed in an old gaol was the site of the imprisonment and execution of many of Ireland’s revolutionary heroes. Fascinating is the Chester Beatty Library, which is an (originally private but then donated to the State) incredible collection of ancient Oriental, African, and Middle Eastern art and literature, including one of the oldest surviving Bible fragments in the world. If you have time, check out the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), the National Museum of Ireland, and the Little Museum of Dublin, all worth a visit.
Luggage storage and lockers near places and monuments
There is so much to see and enjoy in Dublin, especially around the vibrant city center. For example, the Temple Bar area houses cool, artsy streets with fashionable shops, good restaurants, and iconic bars. It is always a lively spot to hang out on a Friday or Saturday night (although drinking here can be a bit more expensive than in other parts of Dublin!) O’Connell Street is the city's main street, home to the iconic General Post Office (GPO), where much of the fighting during the 1916 rebellion took place. Check out our guide below on handy locations to leave your bags before you get out there and enjoy the city!
Tipperary House is an ideal luggage storage location if you are traveling in or out of Heuston Station and the AIRLINK bus. It’s also located right beside Phoenix Park, a true gem of Dublin city that you’ll surely want to explore, but not with heavy bags and luggage! So, why drop off a bag here using Nannybag?
The Upper part of O’Connell Street brings you into the city's north side, where charming, interesting neighborhoods like Phibsborough, Glasnevin, and Drumcondra are located. There are some great shopping opportunities at the top of this wide, imposing street, Dublin’s main street. Need to store a bag somewhere nearby here before further exploration? Nannybag can help.
Temple Bar is a great option if you’re in Dublin and want to party. Now, be warned - the pubs here are a little overpriced and not the most authentic (you won’t find too many Dubliners drinking here), but it’s a very pretty district of the city and is always lively, with great revelry and a constant supply of music and fun. Need to drop off a bag or two nearby before enjoying what Temple Bar has to offer? Use Nannybag!
There’s so much to do and see in Dublin’s charming, lively city center, from the grandeur of Trinity College Dublin to the serenity of St. Stephen’s Green. Check out the amazing National Gallery, marvel at Christchurch Cathedral, or walk around Dublin Castle. One thing is for sure, though - you won’t want to be weighed down with your bags as you explore, so find a nearby Nannybag storage in the city center!
Dublin Zoo is located in the beautiful, enormous, and historic Phoenix Park in the west of the city. This park itself is well worth a visit, one of the biggest urban parks in Europe and a truly gorgeous, wild place filled with deer and forest. The fantastic Dublin Zoo is also located here, which is well worth a visit.
O’Connell Street Lower is the southern side of the main street in Dublin, right beside O’Connell Bridge over the Liffey. Originally named Sackville Street, it was renamed after Irish Independence to honor Daniel O’Connell, who campaigned and succeeded in winning voting rights for Irish Catholics. It’s also one of Dublin's busiest and most central spots and a good place to store some bags if you need to!
There are a few different tourist information and travel office options around Dublin, but the one located on College Green is especially handy. Right in the center of town beside Trinity College and Grafton Street, you can get plenty of tourist information and book tours here. It’s also a very handy place to drop off bags - check out nearby Nannies!
Luggage storage and lockers near Dublin parks
Unsurprisingly, a country known as the “Emerald Isle” has beautiful parks and green spaces in its capital city. Phoenix Park is an enormous, truly wild space that is the largest urban park in Europe; walking around here in the forests and amongst large deer herds truly makes you forget you’re in a city, while the incredible National Botanic Gardens, home to a huge variety of plant species from around the world housed in huge, ornate greenhouses have a similar transporting effect. The Irish National War Memorial Park is also great for a little stroll. Enjoy Dublin’s parks without dragging large bags around; check nearby places to drop your luggage off using our service!
